International Legal Acts on Gender Equality Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities United Nations Agencies In the publication "International Legal Acts for Gender Equality” are included all international instruments that comprise gender equality and a substantial part is the European Union legal body (acquis communautaire) in the field of Equal Opportunities, as a priority for the government of Albania to meet the criteria established by the Copenhagen European Council of 1993 (economic and political criteria) as well as the need to meet obligations arising from the process for approximation of legislation (acquis communautaire). One more reason to publish this review is also the fact that now implementation and ratification of these international instruments is part of the obligations undertaken by the Albanian government under the National Plan for approximation of legislation.
