The MLSAEO/DPEO, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Interior, etc., on 20th of January 2009, organized a meeting entitled "Reintegration -- a crucial post-treatment moment".
This meeting aimed at addressing the most effective measures for the rehabilitation of narcotics users, during both the treatment and the reintegration phases. The Minister of Health, Mrs. Anila Godo and Mrs. Liri Berisha both stressed the need for strengthening the human dimension during all the phases of the rehabilitation process, in parallel with the institutional measures. Reintegration is a very important moment of the post-treatment phase of patients and for this reason the role of special policies and programs for addressing their needs takes on a special importance. Social and employment policies together with psychological treatment must be the main pillars on which the health institutions and civil society must base their work; in this context the policies must provide for a specialized treatment of this social group. The Head of the DPEO, Mrs. Anna Xheka focused on the current stage of the provision of these programs and their short-term objectives. The meeting was concluded after a full set of recommendations were drafted, addressed at all the state and social actors that deal with the problems and consequences of narcotics use. |
