CEDAW, a real opportunity to be known and used for protection from gender discrimination. 16 Janary 2009

In the framework of the joint programme of UN Agencies in Albania and MoLSAEO (‘One UN’) on gender equality and in support of the implementation of the National Strategy on Gender Equality and Domestic Violence, DPEO, in conjunction with UNIFEM, organised on January 16, 2009, in Tirana a one-day training ‘On Piloting the Training Manual on CEDAW.’
Representatives of central institutions and contact points of the line ministries and the Tirana municipality took part at the training session.

The objective of the training was to pilot the Training Manual on the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), which is to be used in the future for conducting a number of training sessions with the public administration personnel, to enhance their knowledge and understanding of CEDAW, along with the optional protocol, instructing them in practical terms to ensure an effective implementation of such acts.
