Final meeting of the awareness raising campaign on domestic violence.

The round table “For an equal society without violence” organized in Tirana on July 1, 2008, marked the end of the awareness raising campaign on domestic violence.
Aim: Familiarizing the participants with law no. 9669; the law’s practical implementation one year after it has become effective;its impact and issues encountered during its implementation,as well as the assessment and recommendations provided by the Council of Europe in conclusion of the CoE campaign against domestic violence.

During the period April – June 2008, the Directorate of Policies for Equal Opportunities, in co-operation with the APWD, with the support of USAID, organized in the framework of the national campaign for the in¬troduction of the NSPWD a series of workshops with the topic: Drafting the Local Action Plan in support of the National Strategy for Persons with Disabilities.

All together for a Europe for children

On 8-10 September 2008, Stock¬holm hosted a high level confer¬ence for the “Protection, legal framework and children participa¬tion in the decision making pro¬cess in Europe”. The Albanian del¬egation, invited by Ms. Maud de Boer-Buquicchio, Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe and Mr. Goran Hagglund, Minister of Health and Social Affairs in Swe¬den, was headed by the Minister of Labour, Social Affairs and Equal Op¬portunities.
